FINAL TRANSCRIPT FORMS: Final Transcript forms are now available in the Curriculum Office. These are transcripts with second semester grades posted on them and will be available beginning May 30th. All soon to be graduates need to fill out the final transcript form to have their transcript sent to the college they will be attending. All colleges require a final transcript before they will allow college students to register for second semester classes. Plan ahead and put in your request now. All requests must have a complete address for the college you will be attending. Any additional requested transcripts will need to be picked up in the Curriculum Office after May 30th. Students may also do the online transcript request on the ASD or South website and be sure to mark “End of Semester” instead of “now”.
LATE EXAMS: Any student missing final exams on May 21 or May 22 needs to fill out the form in the Curriculum Office. Finals CANNOT BE GIVEN EARLY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. Students must schedule with the Curriculum Office to take their exams upon their return. The exam grade will be entered in the semester grade as a zero and a grade change submitted by the teacher when the late exam has been graded.
Attention all girls interested in trying out for the 2014 Volleyball team. There will be an important informational meeting Wednesday, April 9th at lunch in room C 217. Please stop in and get the latest and greatest information for next year.
All Volleyball Players the Freshmen Fair is scheduled for Thursday, April 10 at 6:00 pm. All returning Volleyball players are encourage to join Coach Knecht for this important opportunity to meet and greet the class of 2018.

Students: Alaska Construction Career Day taking place at the Alaska State Fair Grounds in Palmer on Wednesday, April 23, 2014. This is a fabulous opportunity for you to see what training and apprenticeship programs and jobs are available within the Construction Career field here in Alaska. There are many community individuals and firms who have donated valuable time and resources to bring this event together for over 1000 students from Anchorage, Matsu, and the Kenai Peninsula. The first 35 students to sign up in the curriculum office and return a signed permission form will be able to participate in the Career Day. Priority will go to Juniors and Seniors.

Exciting news: Khan Academy is partnering with the College Board so all students who want to go to college can prepare for the SAT at their own pace, at no cost. The College Board just announced that they’re redesigning the SAT for 2016, and we’re partnering with them to make free, world-class prep materials. By spring 2015, you’ll have access to state-of-the-art, interactive learning tools that give you deep practice and help you diagnose your gaps. All of this will be created through a close collaboration with the College Board specifically for the redesigned SAT.
In the meantime, if you are taking the SAT in 2014/15, you can start practicing today with hundreds of previously unreleased Math, Reading, and Writing questions from real SATs and more than 200 videos that show step-by-step solutions to each question.

Sophomores and Juniors: The Rotary’s RYLA (Rotary Youth Learning Academy) program is offering a leadership academy on April 17 for any 10th and 11th grade students interested in spending a weekend in Wasilla chaperoned by adults to learn leadership skills to carry on into adulthood. The auditions for graduation performances will take place next Wednesday, April 9th in the choir room at 2:15. If you are interested in auditioning you should sign up in room F209.
Attention any athletes who have left belongings in the sports locker rooms: Your things have been removed from the lockers. You may collect your belongings tomorrow right after school by going to the hallway just outside the locker rooms. After tomorrow, all remaining clothes and shoes will be donated.
Any senior who wants to submit artwork for the cover of the graduation program should submit their work to F209 by April 11.
Attention students receiving academic awards: the Curriculum Office still has many unclaimed academic awards certificates, pins and letters. Please stop by and pick yours up at your earliest convenience.
Attention Seniors: We are still waiting for you to turn in your senior surveys!! If you don’t have a form, you can pick one up in the curriculum office.
The written LPF test will be Thursday, April 10th at 10:30 a.m. in room G 214. The practice session for the FULL LPF test out will be Thursday, April 17th at 10:30 a.m. in room G 214. If you are planning on taking either test, please see your counselor to sign up.
