Do you know that South Library has audiobooks through Catalist Digital that you can listen to from your smartphone, computer, or other digital device? We currently have 40 titles to choose from with more being added soon.

2014 AP Exam Information
PAYMENT: The first step is to pay for your exam(s). The payment window will be open from
Monday, February 10th through Friday, March 21st at 11a.m.
- Pay online with credit/debit card through Zangle Parent Connect
- Pay at South with cash/check (made out to “SAHS”) to Mrs. Thornton in the front office.
REGISTER: The second step is to register for the specific exam(s) you plan to take.
- Print your receipt if you pay online or get a receipt from Mrs. Thornton and BRING it to Mrs. Traeger in the curriculum office to register for your specific exam(s).
- Mrs. Traeger will have a form for you to select the specific test(s) you will be taking.
How much does each test cost?
Tests are $89.00 each. There is no discount for ordering multiple tests, and you should pay for all of your exams at the same time.
What is the final deadline for ordering tests?
Registration for AP Exams ends at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 21st. No exceptions.

All interested female athletes must have:
*Minimum GPA Requirement: 2.00 the previous semester and pass 5 classes.
*Participation Requirements for sports: Participation form, TAD policy form, and Health form. All available at: https://www.southanchoragehighschool.org/activities/
*The Concussion test required only once for all years of High School activities, the Concussion Information form is required every year.
*Current Health form on file in the Activities office must be valid for the duration of the sport inclusive of state meets.
*Fines must be cleared before eligibility can be established.
*Hard Copy Forms will also be available at South High School beginning July 22nd. Please plan ahead.
Payment is required in full for each activity at time of sign up. *Online payments will be available in July.
Impact Test is a $5.00 one time High School Fee.(Cannot Be Waived)
Sports Fee Hardship Waiver forms are available online or in the Activities Office.
Please Retain your receipt for payment. This will be needed in order to process Refunds.
All interested athletes will need to bring indoor volleyball shoes, knee pads, personal water bottle, and outdoor running shoes.

All returning volleyball players please put these important dates on your calendar. The camp is only successful with 100% commitment from the members of the South Volleyball teams.

SAHS Academic Awards:
The criteria for earning an academic award is as follows:
To earn an ASD academic letter, a 3.5 GPA must be maintained for two consecutive semesters. These semesters need not fall in order of fall and spring semester, but may be considered consecutive if the GPA is earned spring semester and the following fall. Any semester subsequent to the awarding of the academic letter in which a student earns 3.5 to 4.0 GPA, a silver star is awarded. Any semester subsequent to the awarding of the academic letter that a student earns a 4.0 GPA, a gold star is awarded.

Anchorage School District Gifted Mentorship Program:
The Anchorage School District Gifted Mentorship program is for the exceptional 11th and 12th grade high school student who has the self-discipline and interest to pursue independent study under the direction of a professional/ expert in a field of great interest to the student. Students MUST apply for this program.
Acceptance into the mentorship program is based on a qualifying matrix evaluation based on GPA, Test Scores, relevant coursework and teacher recommendations. The first application deadline for the 2014-15 Gifted Mentorship Program is Friday April 25, 2014. There will be second application deadline September 19, 2014; however, students are encouraged to apply in April to guarantee a spot in the program.
