SAGA’s Alaska Service Corps is recruiting Alaskan residents, ages 17-20, to join our service crews for the summer. Crew members will be living and working in crews of 7 (including two crew leaders), in locations around the state. Work will be physical and crew members need to able to commit to a term of service from June 2nd to August 13th. Crew members will be enrolled in the AmeriCorps program and receive a $900/ month stipend, and receive an education award of $1468, to be used to pay for any higher education expenses in the future, upon successful completion of the term. Many past participants have told us that while the work is hard (and the bugs can be bad!) this has been one of the best experiences of their life. Crew members can expect to camp and live outdoors for the whole summer. If this sounds interesting, contact our office at 907-789-6172 or go to our website at www.servealaska.org/current-openings/asc/
